Affiliate Ensembles

Me2/’s Strategic Plan calls for the creation of dozens of Affiliate ensembles across the nation in the years to come. It’s an ambitious goal but we believe it is realistic based on the numerous contacts we receive saying, “How can we start a Me2/ program where we live?”

Portland affiliate group

Our first Affiliate program was launched in 2017 in Portland, Oregon (see photo). If you are interested in more information about Me2/Portland, please contact Jessie Bodell at jessie.bodell@gmail.com.

A new Affiliate program in Portland, Maine launched during the summer of 2020 (with outdoor rehearsals due to the pandemic). For more information please contact Jessica Stuart at ohjstu@gmail.com or Caroline Whiddon at info@me2orchestra.org.

Teams in both Los Angeles, California and St. Louis, Missouri are currently in the planning stages new Me2/ affiliates in these cities. For more information about activities in either LA and St. Louis, please contact Caroline Whiddon at info@me2orchestra.org.

We have recently received interest about potential affiliates in Pittsburgh, PA; Indianapolis, IA; and Atlanta, GA. We hope to see things getting underway in these cities, too. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! And more importantly, where there is a committed group of people who want to make it happen, Me2/ will offer as much support as possible to get things off the ground.

Keep in mind that Affiliates can be chamber music groups (without a conductor) as well as vocal groups. Me2/Boston launched a Flute Choir in September 2019, and we encourage others to consider an affiliate program consisting of whatever instrument you truly love – so long as classical music is the focus!

If you are interested in learning more about the procedure for launching a Me2/ Affiliate ensemble in your community, please don’t hesitate to contact our Executive Director, Caroline Whiddon, for more information. She can be reached at caroline@me2orchestra.org or (802) 238-8369.
