Me2/’s Strategic Plan calls for the creation of 20 Affiliate ensembles to be created by the end of year 2020. It’s an ambitious plan, but we feel it is possible based on the amount of enthusiasm we have received for Me2/’s mission. So many people have contacted us to ask, “How do I start a program like yours where I live?” We want to make it as easy as possible!
Our first Affiliate program was launched in 2017 in Portland, Oregon (see photo). If you are interested in more information about Me2/Portland, please contact Jessie Bodell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have recently received interest about potential affiliates in Pittsburgh, PA; Indianapolis, IA; and Atlanta, GA. We hope to see things getting underway in these cities, too. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! And more importantly, where there is a committed individual or group of people who want to make it happen, Me2/ will offer as much support as possible to get things off the ground.
Keep in mind that Affiliates can be chamber music groups (without a conductor) as well as vocal groups. Me2/Boston launched a Flute Choir in September 2019, and we encourage others to consider an affiliate program consisting of whatever instrument you truly love – so long as classical music is the focus!
If you are interested in learning more about the procedure for launching a Me2/ Affiliate ensemble in your community, please don’t hesitate to contact our Executive Director, Caroline Whiddon, for more information. She can be reached at email@example.com or (802) 238-8369.
